The lede slyly leaves the reader wondering what the answer is, to a question not fully asked:

Sonny Rollins, one of the two greatest living jazz artists, was in a wonderfully expansive mood Friday at Symphony Center.

So who is the second???

I want to say Herbie Hancock or Wayne Shorter (personally, I'd go with Herbie) but I'm open to suggestions.
